Job Description

As a key member of the executive management team at Genesis Systems, the Director of Finance is responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the organization's financial and operational strategy, establishing performance metrics, and ensuring the integrity of control systems that safeguard company assets.



The Director of Finance oversees all accounting and reporting activities for manufacturing operations, including percentage of completion accounting, cost tracking, and gross profit variance analysis. Additionally, this position is accountable for accurate, timely reporting of subsidiary financials to IPG Corporate, while serving as a trusted advisor to site leadership.



Key Responsibilities



  • Serve as a member of the executive management team and actively participate in strategic decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Accounting Department.
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary entities and foreign operations.
  • Manage external service providers for outsourced financial or accounting functions.
  • Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all transactional processes and financial systems.
  • Drive financial planning by analyzing performance trends, forecasts, and risk exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Maintain effective recordkeeping in alignment with auditor and government standards.
  • Report financial and operational risk issues to site and corporate leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, addressing findings and implementing recommendations.
  • Prepare the annual budget in collaboration with department leaders.
  • Monitor and report budget vs. actual performance, including metrics tied to annual incentive programs.
  • Champion operational best practices and process improvements.
  • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills & Competencies



  • 10+ years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in ERP financial systems and accounting automation tools.
  • Proven experience as a Director of Finance, Controller, or equivalent leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of corporate finance, U.S. GAAP, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Skilled in percentage of completion accounting, with demonstrated experience in manufacturing or project-based industries.
  • International accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and variance analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and executive-level presentation skills.


Education & Credentials



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • CPA or CMA certification highly desirable.
