  • Evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, and practices to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide hands-on guidance for complex engineering challenges.

Execution & Delivery

  • Partner with product managers, engineering managers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of professional software/infrastructure engineering experience with a track record of delivering impactful solutions.
  • Deep expertise in one or more areas (e.g., distributed systems, cloud platforms, data engineering, security, DevOps).
  • Proven ability to influence at the organizational level, balancing technical depth with business impact.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven expertise in designing and deploying large-scale, high-availability systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, and integration strategies.
  • Excellent knowledge of design patterns, software architecture principles, and security best practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to balance short-term needs with long-term strategy.

Cognitive / Mental Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Able to translate regulatory/clinical requirements into technical solutions and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and a track record of driving initiatives from concept to implementation.
  • Leadership and mentorship capabilities are essential - this role will guide teams and represent Cotiviti's interoperability expertise both internally and externally, so the candidate should be comfortable taking initiative, "leading without authority" when required, and mentoring others.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
