Champaign-Urbana Public Health District Janitor The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District is seeking a full-time (40-hour week) Janitor to assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities and ground. Duties and Responsibilities include: * Vacuums, mops, and sweeps the interior floors using cleaning equipment in all office areas and common areas such as lobbies, hallways, and meeting rooms. * Sanitizes and cleans clinic rooms, restrooms, and break rooms to maintain a safe and non-contaminated environment. * Collects and removes trash, recycle bins and paper from interior trash bins. * Collects and removes trash from exterior trash bins and performs other waste management duties. * Collects, handles and packs hazardous waste materials for proper disposal. * Keeps track of cleaning supplies and informs management when reordering or restocking are necessary. * Public Health Emergency Response Responsibilities: All District employees must be able to respond to public health emergencies when needed and appropriate. During an emergency response, employee may be assigned to a role in either operations, logistics, or administration by the Incident Commander and/or Section Chief in addition to regular duties. * Performs other duties as required. Requirements and Qualifications * High school diploma or GED equivalent * One (1) year of janitorial work experience preferred The expected starting hourly rate is $16.71/hr.
