Academic instruction is combined with carefully supervised pre-professional training that includes classroom teaching and study/travel abroad, to prepare the next generation of researchers and teachers. 3) Provide academic technology support to foreign language instructors, and learning resources to students enrolled in foreign language courses through staff and facilities operating as the Foreign Language Resource Center. 4) Publish three internationally recognized scholarly publications: the journals Hispanofila and Romance Notes, and a book-length monograph series, North Carolina Series in Romance Studies. Each year 6 journals and several monographs are published.
