The Clinical Case Manager Educator acts as a resource, consultant, mentor, and coach to the staff of the Clinical Case Management Department This individual will partner with the department's leadership team and identified clinical resources to develop educational programs focused on the knowledge and skill needs of the Clinical Case Managers at UCD Medical Center. The Clinical Case Manager Educator will act as a liaison with CPPN and other pertinent departments to facilitate the educational process through assessment, development, planning, continuing education, leadership, evaluation and implementation of the case manager competency assessment in addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the Clinical Case Manager Educator is instrumental in creating a professional climate within the department and UC Davis Medical Center.
This position is key in the promotion of excellence in patient care, through skill acquisition in evidence-based nursing practice, clinical case management, utilization review, and clinical inquiry through collaboration with nursing leadership and other subject matter experts across UCDH and industry related governing bodies.
Serve as a liaison for developing department level training materials, performance improvement, quality and safety projects ensuring the appropriate methodology design and deployment.
Serve as lead trainer and coach to staff, and leadership on the use of analytical tools to understand data, trend, reporting and interpretation of department-level operation and institutional dashboards. Apply program management techniques to ensure the on-time, high-quality delivery of all projects. Manage projects and ensure their compliance with department and regulatory requirements.
The incumbent participates in multiple committees, both internally and externally, representing Clinical Case Management (CCM) Department and the University.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Experience precepting new case managers Preceptor class(es).
- Knowledge and ability to implement the educational learning process; ability to teach adult learners knowledge of curriculum development
- Analytical skills to effectively research and participate in decision making process regarding educational program development
- Organizational skills to be able to work on several projects simultaneously
- Computer and web-based learning skills for use with a variety of educational modalities
- Utilizes skillful, culturally sensitive and crucial communication at all times
- Tact and diplomacy skills to interact with a broad spectrum of employees
- Ability to organize work to accommodate special projects, deadlines and priorities; ability to be both flexible and adaptable in order to coordinate multiple variables and to respond to the need of a multi-faceted work area
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Case Manager
- Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Knowledge of professional and ethical standards related to Clinical Case Management such as the Nursing Practice Act, the Codes of Ethics from the American Nurses Association and the Standards of Practice & Scope of Services by the American Case Management Association & Case Management Society of America
- Knowledge of Medicare, MediCal, and HMO legislation, third party payor contracts, Title XXII, and the Joint Commission. Demonstrated knowledge of how these programs/regulations affect the functions and role of the department. Demonstrates the ability to incorporate them into departmental systems/processes

Work Environment
