Job Summary |
The Director of Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Operations at the Callier Center for Communication Disorders will be responsible for all clinical service activities in the Callier Speech-Language Pathology Clinic including overseeing scheduling, insurance and financial analyses for the clinic in collaboration with the Director of Business Operations and the Director of Administrative Operations and Compliance.
The Director will also consult with Callier Center Leadership, including the Senior Director of Development on fund raising, clinical grant writing and marketing strategies for the speech-language pathology program. The successful candidate must be eligible for or hold a Texas License in Speech-Language Pathology and The Certificate of Clinical Competence (
CCC-
SLP) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (
ASHA). |
Minimum Education and Experience |
Master's degree in Speech-Language or in closely related field. Holds current Speech-Language Pathology license in the state of Texas or can obtain by the date of hire and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (
CCC-
SLP) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (
ASHA). Eight (8) years of progressive clinical experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, at least three (3) of which must include being the direct supervisor of other licensed clinical Speech-Language Pathologists. |

- 9 years of clinical experience in providing speech-language pathology services.
- 3 years of progressively responsible leadership or administrative experience.

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all clinical service activities in the Callier Center Speech-Language Pathology program, including continuous quality management for Speech-Language Pathology clinical services.
- Coordinate and participate in clinical teaching in the Callier Speech-Language Pathology clinic in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Education for students in the speech-language pathology program at the University of Texas at Dallas.
- Manage a team of 10 clinical speech-language pathologists at two clinic locations. Oversee scheduling, insurance, financial analysis, and reports for the speech-language pathology clinic.
- Facilitate student and faculty research activities that require patient recruitment in the Callier speech-language pathology clinic.
- Participate in clinical research and clinical innovation within the Callier Center.
- Participate in fund raising and grant writing with the Callier Center for Communication Disorders Development team.
- Serve as an ambassador for speech pathology services to the community
