  • Compensation: $17.00 /hr

Overview / Job Summary:
As a FutureMaker Demonstrator, you will play a crucial role in engaging students and the community in various activities that inspire and cultivate interest in technical and vocational pathways. You will have the opportunity to showcase WSU Tech's programs, facilities, and resources through hands-on demonstrations and interactive learning experiences, contributing to workforce development and educational outreach.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assists students with the operation of devices to increase interest in technical careers with on the job training
  • Utilizes audio and visual and virtual/augmented reality equipment in a variety of settings both on and off campus
  • Assists with the development of audio and video productions to increase awareness of technical careers and their education paths
  • Supports development of new hands-on activities to demonstrate STEM and technical careers
  • Assists with event setup, pack up of gear and appropriate storage of indoor and outdoor events
  • Ability to present to a group of students in a variety of environments that is clear and engaging
  • Engages and attracts potential students for technical college programs of study
  • Works closely with the team on maintenance and design projects for FutureMaker Lab Program improvement
  • Provides excellent customer service as well as presents a professional image to the public
  • Ability to travel with potential weekend and evening hours required
  • Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ordinances
  • Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools and other aids as required or needed
  • Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Ability to learn and operate new computer software
  • Knowledge of technical fields such as aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, construction sciences or other
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Ability to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independently
  • Assess situations rapidly and make logical decisions in a timely manner
  • Analyze facts and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong math, spelling, computer, and calculator abilities
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, calm and courteous manner with the general public and employees
  • Attention to detail
