Scope: The First Article Coordinator is responsible for managing and executing First Article Inspection (FAI) processes in compliance with AS9102 standards. This role ensures that all new or revised components and assemblies meet engineering design and quality requirements before production. The coordinator will interface with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to plan, compile, review, and submit complete FAI documentation packages to internal stakeholders and/or customers in accordance with AS9102 and/or customer specific requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 Rev. B/C requirements.
  • Prepare and compile full FAI documentation packages, including Forms 1, 2, and 3, material certifications, special process certifications, test data, and ballooned drawings.
  • Work with Engineering and Production to gather required dimensional data, process certifications, and part history.
  • Review supplier-submitted FAIs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of FAIs to meet internal and customer deadlines.
  • Maintain records of all submitted and approved FAI reports.
  • Support internal audits and external customer audits related to FAI processes.
  • Communicate with customers or suppliers regarding FAI discrepancies, clarifications, or approvals.
  • Assist in continuous improvement of FAI processes and related documentation workflows.
  • Use quality tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMM reports, and other inspection equipment as needed to verify product compliance.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Highly developed skills in oral and written communications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification
  • Understanding of AS9100, IPC610 and IPC600
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of customer-specific FAI requirements (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman).
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Knowledge of FAIR software solutions such as Exostar / Net-Inspect

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$40,845 - $64,561

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
