Description
Community Solutions is seeking a full-time Residential Re-Entry Shift Lead to help lead our RRS team at our Stein House location in Hartford, CT. The Stein House is an adult residential facility.In this role you will provide client supervision and complete all required program operations and ensure the execution of all essential shift responsibilities, IR for submission, etc. This individual will uphold all Agency policies and procedures pertaining to the safety and security of clients, Agency property and the community and provide a safe environment while facilitating counseling, advocacy and support.The program administers assessments, monitors clients' compliance with service plan goals, and involves clients in services that address their criminogenic tendencies. Through case management, supervision, and provision of evidence-based groups, clients gain the tools and support necessary for successful community re-entry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to:
Policy and program monitoring - Review all required documentation for content, accuracy, and timeliness.
Maintain "inspection ready" status at facility.
Schedule and oversee program group and recreational activities.
Maintain paper and electronic client files and ensure compliance with Agency policy regarding confidential information. This confidentiality must be maintained even if you are no longer an employee of CSI.
Report to work 15 minutes before their scheduled shift for example staff hires for the 4pm-12am shift are required to report to work by 3:45pm.
Shift change duties:
Provide update on any client issues and incidents.
Verify all physical items being passed between shifts.
Ensure security of facility keys.
Any client funds that have been passed for 24 hours are to be deposited in the safe and documented in the financial log.
Verify house count.
Verify cleanliness of the facility.
Verify all staff members have reported for shift prior to leaving shift.
Assist other RRS with questions or processes on the shift.
Train new RRS on Agency policy and procedures, act as mentor for new shift employees.
Register for and attend all required trainings and boosters including but not limited to MI and if approved to work with clients attend the annual training.
Conduct employment, job search and home confinement spot checks on each shift.
Conduct room searches as assigned and document results in CSI electronic data collection system immediately after task is completed.
Conduct common area searches as assigned and document results in CSI electronic data collection system immediately after task is completed.
Conduct at least one perimeter search per shift and document results in CSI electronic data collection system immediately after task is completed.
Conduct pat/pocket searches on all clients entering the facility and document results in CSI electronic data collection system immediately after task is completed.
Confiscate any contraband found and complete incident report, DAR or Federal Incident Report (Ticket) per policy and Statement of Work (if applicable).
If the contraband is money issue the client a receipt and deposit the money in the safe following policy and procedure for handling client funds.
Conduct at least one facility tour per shift and document results in CSI electronic data collection system immediately after task is completed.
Complete Weekly safety and sanitation reports and document results in CSI electronic data collection system immediately after task is completed.
Supervise completion of chores.
Create a chore list weekly ensuring that assignments are rotated and do not conflict with a client's work schedule.
Verify that all chores have been completed satisfactorily.
Actively participate in completing chores along with the clients each time chores are called.
Client funds - if a client turns in a paycheck or cash follow CSI policy on handling of client funds.
Complete house counts every hour from Midnight to 8am and every 2 hours from 8am to 10pm and document results in CSI electronic data collection system immediately after task is completed. It is a requirement that you conduct house counts as follows:
Staff are required to bring the house count sheet on a clip board with them while conducting the house count. Facilities that have implemented the use of hand-held scanners are exempt from this requirement. Staff are required to walk through the entire facility and enter every room in an attempt to locate all clients and ensure that no one is out of place.
Count clients as "in" the building only when they are observed by identifying their breathing face as the person you are counting.
Review the sign in/out sheets and to verify approved location of the client and time they are due to return to the facility.
Checking the CSI data collection system for any outstanding alerts and/or pending returns to make sure that all clients are signed out to an approved location and are not late returning to the facility.
Immediately reporting discrepancies to the Program Director or Duty Officer. Failure to conduct a proper house count will likely result in termination of employment.
Transport Clients as needed in a Company vehicle.
Assist with scheduling and executing monthly emergency drills.
Serve as a role model to clients modeling pro-social behaviors.
Maintain a working knowledge of and abide by the Agency's programs, policies, procedures and code of ethics.
Secure urines from same sex clients and complete all required paperwork and electronic documentation in the CSI data collection systems on the day the data is obtained.
Monitor shift log for specific assignments for the collection of urines and Breathalyzer tests.
Routinely tour the facility ensuring the safety of clients and staff and document results in CSI electronic data collection system.
Documents all equipment and facility issues upon discovery and when appropriate notify the Supervisor or Duty Officer.
Cooperate with all background/fingerprinting requirements for employment as requested.
Cooperate with any associated investigations.
Supervise all client visitation.
Sign all visitors and contractors in and out of the facility.
Complete intake on all new arrivals prior to the end of your shift.
Facilitate client orientation as assigned.
Facilitate all client movement in and out of the facility. Ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete before allowing a client to leave the facility.
Monitor client's self-administration of medication.
Verify if a client is medication compliant. If not complete incident report and notify Case Manager and Program Director.
Documenting how many pills were self-administered and how many pills are remaining. This information is to be documented in the CSI electronic data collection system as soon as the client self-administers the medications.
Any discrepancies in medication counts are to be documented in an incident report.
If a client has less than a 10 day supply of medication follow policy and procedure to refill the client medication.
Mediate and address client problems and behavioral issues using Motivational Interviewing skills.
Check and record in the CSI electronic data collection system the temperatures at least once a day for all refrigerators and freezers in the facility.
Serving of meals
Check the temperature of all food being delivered to the program.
Check the temperature of food prior to serving the meal.
Ensure that a meal is set aside for each client that is out of the facility during meal time.
Ensure food is served in accord with "SafeServe" training.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School Diploma plus 4 years of experience or a Bachelor'sin the social service or criminal justice field preferred.
- Education may be substituted with relevant experience on a one year for one year basis.
- Previous experience in a Residential Re-Entry Specialist role.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
