The Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift directs and coordinates plant activities and personnel within their designated areas of responsibility to deliver quality products on-time to our customers and at a profit. This must be accomplished in an environment where safety is first and a balanced lean attack continually achieves and improves Quality/Housekeeping/Service levels/Productivity. This position must partner with other functional areas, customers, and suppliers in order to align plant activities with established business objectives and product/customer requirements.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise one or more functional operations group(s) (assembly, packaging, fabrication, benders, lubes, stones, fish tape, machine shop, or any combination) in coordination with the appropriate team leaders.
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe and clean working environment for their subordinate employees.
  • Direct, train, and monitor activity within the group(s), ensuring compliance with all appropriate procedures and policies for the functional groups.
  • Present ideas and plans for improvements supported by appropriate analysis.
  • Periodically procure items for either production or department use.
  • Assign and prioritize work to meet production requirements.
  • Responsible for conducting employee performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for timecard approval and time off scheduling for subordinate personnel.
  • Coordinate activities with other functional groups (environmental health services, maintenance, shipping, accounting, etc.)
  • Fill in as a team leader to provide direction and coaching as applicable.
  • Actively engage in responsibilities and initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Comply with and contribute to the continuous improvement of company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented workplace, which may include other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position will supervise staff members and lead project teams as assigned.
  • This role will have direct supervisory responsibilities for 10-50 employees depending on business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Advanced courses related or pertinent to supervising in a manufacturing environment are preferred.
  • Progressive responsibility within a functional group, or equivalent verifiable related experience.
  • A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be considered.

The expected salary for this position is between $75,504.00 and $101,553.00 per year. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, location, skills, training and experience.
