What to Expect
Become a vital technical contributor on a collaborative, cross - functional team dedicated to optimizing the performance of Tesla's stationary storage assets and advancing the clean energy landscape. You'll take ownership of diagnosing and resolving performa nce challenges to ensure the peak health and reliability of the Tesla Energy Fleet. Collaborate to troubleshoot and fix hardware, software, and firmware issues that impact downtime for our Industrial Storage customers, partnering with SCADA and Netops team s to address complexities in communication networks across Tesla Energy sites. Dive into fleet data analysis to identify failure modes, develop effective solutions, and apply them fleet - wide. Evaluate the value of software and firmware enhancements, then w ork with engineering teams to implement improvements that benefit current and future products. Handle escalated global customer cases to reduce downtime and enhance satisfaction, while teaming up with technical support to create essential documentation and training for commissioning, operating, repairing, and servicing Tesla's Industrial Storage products worldwide. What You'll Do
  • Triage, investigate and support correcting all hardware/software/firmware issues that arediscovered during plant operation. Effectively summarize & broadly communicate any issues torelevant stakeholders for future product improvement
  • Support fleet sustainment efforts for all equipment comprising a battery energy storage system
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (DNP3, IEC61850 & Modbus)
  • Familiarity with Industrial PLC equipment such as SEL RTAC's, HMIs, Historians, Fault recorders,relays, meters
  • Communication networks & equipment such as Network Switches, cat5/fiber optic cables,familiarity with TCP/IP & DNS
  • Utilize data analysis, fleet analytics and first principles insights to solve problems with some onsite investigations as needed
  • Lead data-driven, cross-functional efforts and initiatives to implement fleet improvements with theprogram management teams, design teams, field service and technical support
  • Collaborate with field service and technical support teams to create documentation and training to support serviceability, and to ensure consistent and stable global service operations
  • Define and document actions that need to be taken by the field service and technical support teams when a specific failure mode occurs

What You'll Bring
  • Experience in commissioning/performance testing/maintenance/designof power generation facilities or other electrical/SCADA/controls discipline
  • Knowledge and experience with SCADA protocols (i.e. DNP3 and Modbus)
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, SEL PLCs, Relays and meters, SCADA gateways, managed Ethernet switches, media converters (fiber and serial) and digital Input/outputdevices
  • Familiarity with industrial communication networks (fiber optics, network switches, TCP/IP, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, self-directed, highly detail-oriented,organized and flexible
  • Role will have periodic on-call 24/7 support of external customers
  • Ability to travel up to 5-10% of time, occasionally on short notice
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-focused problem solving

    Expected Compensation
    $100,160 - $177,480/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
