Job Overview

The Santa Tour Elf position is the ambassador of Santa Claus charged with helping to spread cheer and goodwill among our Macy's customers. The Elf position serves as the operational support for all aspects of the tour. You will be responsible for ensuring a wonderful holiday experience by employing a mix of entertainment and crowd control techniques to maintain the flow of guests attending Santa's appearance and assist with set up and break down of event location.

Elf when customer facing and operational (roadie) when not.

Combination of overnight bus and hotels. No days to leave tour, but there are nonworking days in compliance with rest laws. Could work 6 days consecutively.

What You Will Do

• Always be in Elf costume or uniform (provided by Macy's) at in-store and off-site appearances
• Have full schedule availability 11/20/25 - 12/23/25
  
  
  
  • You will be on the road touring from 11/28/25 - 12/23/25
  
  
• Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition to direct and expedite guest visits with Santa
  
  
  
  • Always maintain a cheerful, upbeat demeanor while on stage in front of guests
  • Maintain secular conversations with guests
  • Take photos (on customer personal equipment)
  
  
• Appear at special, off-site locations for special appearances
  
  
  
  • Perform media press hits including pre-taped or live television hits or interviews
  
  
• Must be comfortable living on a tour bus with other tour personnel and be comfortable living and/or sleeping in a confined space for an extended period of time
  
  
  
  • Must maintain a respectful and organized demeanor while living on the tour bus
  
  
• Must be comfortable with air travel
• Assist with load-in and strike of event set pieces and props
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• You must have the ability to work independently and to multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Crowd control experience with both adults and children is required
• Customer service experience required
• Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values
  
  
  
  • Performer, touring theater, and Media/Press experience is preferred
  
  
• Knowledge of a second language is helpful
  
  
  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and direct children

Essential Physical Demands/Work Hours

• May involve prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to lift at minimum 50 pounds, including small children
• 4am - 10pm on alternating or successive days
• On tour 11/30/25 - 12/23/25
