Join a dedicated and accomplished team of experts on the system definition and design team. As the EMC EMI System Lead, you will be responsible for the top-level EMI/EMC, lightning, and RF integration and architecture for electrical and electronic systems on the New Glenn. Your role will involve defining and documenting the EMC requirements for New Glenn electrical systems and components. You will lead design trades for system approaches for EMI/EMC and lightning tolerance and develop verification strategies for electrical system design requirements. This position will significantly impact the history of space exploration and requires your dedicated commitment and meticulous attention to safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the responsible engineer for electrical system EMC design and verification.
• Provide EMC documentation describing system design strategies, requirements decomposition, and margin management.
• Develop design solutions for integrated system trades for EMI/EMC, lightning, ESD, and RF.
• Contribute to vehicle, system, and component-level requirements and verification for EMI/EMC, lightning, ESD, and RF.
• Lead system and component-level test and analysis activities for EMC.
• Perform risk reduction testing for EMC based on industry standards.
• Document and evaluate post-test results and perform necessary analyses.
• Integrate technical work performed within the architecture team as well as operations and design teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of industry experience in aerospace system electrical design and verification.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and managing small, creative teams on fast-paced projects.
• Strong systems engineering background.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with MIL-STD-461G and DO-160G.
• Ability to troubleshoot test-related issues down to the component level.
• Experience with program-level design strategies and verification of EMC threats.
• Familiarity with standards for grounding/bonding, EMI/EMC, lightning, ESD, and RF.
• Understanding of computational analysis for lightning effects in aerospace platforms.
• Knowledge and experience with test methods for EMI/EMC, lightning strike, ESD, and RF.
• Experience in coordinating with regulatory authorities and creating compliance documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ years of industry experience in aerospace design.
• Experience in the development of system engineering products such as requirements, interface control documents, and verification reports.
• Experience in ground qualification and acceptance testing of components for EMC/EMI, lightning, and RF.
• Strong familiarity with EMC/EMI circuit design techniques.
• Experience performing computational analysis for lightning effects in aerospace platforms.

• Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
