Inventory Supervisor Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, the Inventory Supervisor will focus on driving inventory accuracy process improvement and overseeing cycle count initiatives across the business. The Inventory Supervisor is accountable for maintaining accurate accounting of quantities and reducing inventory loss through cost saving initiatives. This position will lead cross-functional continuous improvement activities to identify and deliver opportunities to establish best practices, reduce waste, improve warehouse management processes and reduce working capital. This is done by understanding the current processes for all locations and working with the operations team to improve the processes, daily cycle counting of goods as prescribed, utilizing material handling equipment to thoroughly investigate and move materials when needed, reading reports and accurate reconciliation of variances with the Planning group. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or equivalent work
- Must be able to work in a team as well as independently
- Must have high attention to detail
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization
Kind & Length of Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory control in a manufacturing environment.
- 2 year of experience leading and supervising employees.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in ERP systems such as Navision, SAP or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of MS office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
- Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and maintaining continuous improvement and cost reduction programs.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS Inventory Management
- Perform inventory reconciliation of 3rd party consigned inventory.
- Achieve year-end inventory variance KPI as specified within the 3rd party customer contract. continually reduce year-end inventory variances.
- Collect data and report slow moving inventory.
- Analyze data and recommend scrap rate adjustments to the customer.
- Identify, research, resolve and determine root causes for discrepancies and other inventory-related errors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Interact with customers on consigned inventory on a weekly. Demonstrate commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports.
- Develop and deploy inventory control strategies that feed into production and raw materials scheduling.
Process Improvement
- Analyze inventory data and identify opportunities for sustainable process changes to improve inventory accuracy.
- Implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
- Coach material handlers on proper scanning procedures, updated processes and new procedures.
Cost Savings & Continuous Improvement
- Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
- Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis, cost trends and KPI metrics management to improve value.
Other Duties
- Supervise, coach, and develop direct reports to achieve departmental goals and individual growth objectives.
- Execute layered audits as assigned.
- Provide back-up coverage for the Inventory Support Specialist.
