Job Description
Primary Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively leading HSS initiatives and campaigns, providing technical expertise on safety-related programs such as safety management systems and industrial hygiene, performing HSS assessments, and contributing to implementation of HSS strategies, policies, procedures, and programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilizes technical expertise, administers and coordinates health, safety, and security ("HSS") initiatives across construction and operational areas in the United States.
- Designs, implements, and maintains comprehensive HSS programs, including monitoring program effectiveness, ensuring alignment with company requirements and industry best practices.
- Provides strategic guidance to leadership on HSS matters and emerging risks.
- Conducts safety assessments to identify and mitigate unsafe acts or conditions in the workplaces. Implement control measures to ensure safe and healthy work environment.
- Actively supports the SI US emergency response program by overseeing the Crisis Command Centers in Houston and San Diego; maintaining the Emergency Operations Manuals in each location.
- Reports and analyzes near misses, security, and site injuries/illnesses to HSS leadership; actively supports incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Supports the annual emergency response drills/exercises across the Gulf Coast assets and projects.
- Manages internal and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Environmental, occupational health, or other relevant discipline or the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training Required
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Applicable Health, Safety, and Security related experience Required
Skills and Abilities
- Possess the ability to utilize various software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, DataStream, MAX, Sharepoint, etc. Advanced
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Advanced
- Possess the ability to provide administrative support to various levels of management. Advanced
- Strong analytical thinking and utilizing concise information while working through problems and implementing solutions. Advanced
- Possesses effective planning and organizational skills, meets work deadlines, and delivers results. Advanced
- Possess the ability to complete time sensitive assignments accurately. Advanced
- Must be very organized and able to operate in a high paced multi-tasking environment. Advanced
- Possesses the ability to read through contracts and pick out salient information for summary or compliance purposes. Advanced
- Experience in implementing best practices of Health, Safety, and Security. Advanced
- Possesses experience in monitoring HSS performance and conducting audits and investigations. Advanced
- Ability to present information, results, and findings to technical and management-level type personnel. Advanced
- Possesses knowledge of the applicable codes and regulations associated with port Security, Coast Guard, and other relevant agencies. Advanced
Licenses and Certifications
- Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC). Preferred
- Construction Safety Professional (CSP) Preferred
Other Qualifications
Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.

$125,600.00 - $188,400.00 / year
