THE ROLE

Apply sound judgment and discretion to address business challenges by analyzing processes and environments, and leveraging technology across business units. Lead software development efforts throughout the lifecycle, focusing on advanced software creation while adhering to established standards and best practices. Serving as a technical lead in an Agile environment for small to midsized projects, the candidate collaborates with product owners, business analysts, and quality assurance teams to deliver solutions within tight deadlines. Establish, document, and enforce technical standards and best practices throughout all project phases.

Technical lead to help maintain and support operational risk reduction portal, cash management, collateral management and product master systems. The applications suite spans across 35 separate application modules supporting a wide consumer base and integrates with Equity, Fixed Income, and Derivative Systems and Trade Operations Systems. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead projects from inception to completion, including interpreting business requirements, analyzing technical environments, mapping requirements to design, coding, debugging, and unit testing.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and end users to evaluate business needs and select optimal technologies.
  • Drive the adoption of AI and Copilot technologies to enhance solution quality and delivery efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and assist System Architects in evaluating and selecting new products.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Document code and processes to support system maintenance and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate a thorough understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Create and improve processes, examine workflows, and recommend ways to increase efficiency and standardize practices across projects.
  • Provide ongoing process support, including on-call responsibilities.
  • Participate in the development community of practice to promote innovation and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5-6+ years of experience in Financial Services supporting Operations, Trading or Quantitative systems.
  • Experience with one or more development language/platforms (Angular, Java, C#, Python), messaging/API technologies (Kafka, MQ, Mulesoft) and BI/Reporting (Tableau, PowerBI, SSRS) will be required.
  • Experience building integrations with multi-tiered third-party systems, both hosted and on-premises.
  • Experience working in a continuous integration environment
  • Strong oral/written communication skills and front office support experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within a mature SDLC model; working closely with BA and QA teams as well as end users to drive solutions to completion. Knowledge and proven experience in software development methodology
  • Data platform knowledge and experience (Snowflake, Oracle & MS SQL)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to make independent decisions. planning and estimating skills required.

PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with platforms such as Charles River, Eagle, Acadia Margin Manager are a plus.
  • Project work experience with globally distributed teams is preferred.
