About the Job

Job Description:
* Experience supervising, training, mentoring, assigning work to research associates
* Knowledgeable and ensures compliance with policies and procedures for research
* Participates in development of grant submissions Advises PI in the direction of research efforts by understanding and reviewing previous research and external research papers
* Establishes experimental hypotheses and designs experiments and develops research methodology
* Ensures accurate collection and analysis of data gathered in research experiments and able to interpret data using statistical methodology.
* Prepares, writes and presents papers for publication

Work Schedule: no more than 14 hours per week

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
PhD in Cardiac research related field

Preferred Qualifications:
* Familiarity with a variety of laboratory technologies including patch clamp recording on cardiac ion channels and nAChR for action potential, Na+ currents, K+ currents, Ca2+ currents and single channel current with whole-cell or outside-out modes;
* Patch Clamp cells including human iPSC derived cardiomyocytes, isolated small animal cardiomyocytes and cell lines such as HEK cells and U-2 OS cells.
* Cell culture and maintaining human iPSC derived cardiomyocytes and cell lines;
* Protein immunoprecipitation and qPCR Confocal imaging for ROS

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25 - $50.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
