An exceptional opportunity awaits a highly motivated and independent Postdoctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Jennie Lill within Genentech's world-class Department of Proteomic and Genomic Technologies. This position will have a joint appointment with Dr. Anwesha Dey (Molecular Oncology).

Our department is a pioneer, harnessing state-of-the-art Omics technologies to dissect fundamental biological mechanisms, power large-scale supervised and foundational machine learning initiatives, and comprehensively characterize novel therapeutic modalities.

The Opportunity: Drive Groundbreaking Cancer Discovery

This is an opportunity to lead innovative research at the intersection of proteomics, genomics, and cancer biology. You will:

  • Pioneer novel insights by employing large-scale interactomics in concert with phosphoproteomic analyses within the context of malignant transformation.

  • Deep-dive into molecular mechanisms by thoroughly characterizing interactomes of interest, phosphorylation maps, focusing on key hit identifications to unravel generalizable molecular glue/wedge mechanisms.

Who We Are Seeking: The Next Scientific Leader

Who You Are:

We are looking for an ambitious and accomplished scientist ready to make a significant impact:

  • Ph.D. in Proteomics or Computational Sciences with a robust and demonstrable track record of research accomplishments.

  • Proven Research Independence: Evidence of successfully advancing at least one key research project, as demonstrated by a first-author publication (published or accepted) in a leading peer-reviewed journal.

  • An independent researcher with superior communication skills, an intense passion for discovery, and the ability to thrive within a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

  • Enthusiastic about leveraging innovative approaches to tackle significant, unanswered questions associated with cancer biology.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with proteomic techniques and/or a high level of computational skills for analyzing complex mass spectrometric data.

  • Foundational biochemistry skills and an essential understanding of tumor-related biology.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships across teams.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $98,000 to $104,500 .Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
