How You'll Perform the Role

  • Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
  • Help implement and maintain all Safety policies and regulations.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA and federal and state regulations.
  • Organize and input all documentation pertaining to safety, audits, and training.
  • Create a schedule for GEMBA inspections every month and ensure they are being completed.
  • Gather information and investigate Close Calls/Near Misses, First Aid, and OSHA Recordable Incidents.
  • Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly inspections. Create action plans for findings and non-conformances.
  • Create a safety training matrix for all employees and conduct new hire orientation training.
  • Assess safety in the workplace and inspect the plant floor daily. Looking for hazards, potential risks, and unsafe employee behaviors.
  • Follow and enforce all PPE policies, wearing steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as required.
  • Lead the Safety Committee Meetings and update all Safety Boards.
  • Manage the Safety Shoe Program, PPE cabinets, and safety supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Safety Manager


While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally is exposed to fumes or other airborne particles and vibrations.

Noise levels in the work environment are usually above 85 decibels therefore ear protection is required.

Foot protection is required steel toe or composite shoes, or boots will be acceptable.


What We Need From You

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Safety Coordinator
  • OSHA 10-hour (OSHA 30-hour is preferred)
  • Excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills, and both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors, cell phones, and personal computers.
  • Exceptional organization skills, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a team and have attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze data
  • Capable of communicating with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to think on your feet, work with limited supervision, and make sound decisions.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, move about the facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
