GENERAL FUNCTION

Join Helix, a division of EssilorLuxottica, as we shape the future of technology for the eyecare industry. Our mission is to deliver software that drives practice efficiency, streamlines workflows, and grows the independent eyecare business first in the U.S., and soon on a global scale. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll implement user stories and features for world-class, feature rich platforms

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, deploying, and managing infrastructure and automation solutions that support scalable, reliable, and secure application delivery in an Azure cloud environment. This role supports ongoing improvements to CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and system performance monitoring. Reporting to the Technical Manager of DevOps, the engineer works closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth delivery across environments.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes workloads using Helm to support containerized applications
  • Create and maintain Docker files to ensure consistent and secure build processes
  • Manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including resource provisioning, networking, and storage
  • Write and maintain Bash scripts for automation, system monitoring, and deployment support
  • Build and maintain GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, collaborating with developers to ensure application health and uptime
  • Document infrastructure and operational workflows for support and audit purposes
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to continuously improve deployment reliability, security, and speed
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new tools and technologies to strengthen the DevOps toolchain



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Systems Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including Helm chart management
  • Proficiency in Docker containerization and Dockerfile creation
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure services and resource management
  • Strong Linux administration and Bash scripting skills
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative approach to DevOps



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Experience with observability tools such as DataDog
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible
  • Exposure to build automation frameworks like Cake Build
  • Understanding of legacy tools like Team Foundation Services (TFS)
  • Relevant certifications in Kubernetes, Azure, or DevOps (e.g., CKAD, AZ-104, AZ-400)



Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
