Continuation past the termlengthdiscussed willbebasedonuniversityneed,performance,and/oravailabilityoffunding.POSITION SPECIFICS Penn State Behrend invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science and Software Engineering, to begin in Fall 2026. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of educators and researchers in nationally recognized programs, with access to world-class facilities and strong institutional support. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in both residential and online formats. Teaching opportunities may include quantum computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, software engineering, architectural design, testing, and/or maintenance. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will be expected to establish and sustain a funded research program that involves students and contributes to the advancement of the field. The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate a steadfast commitment to undergraduate education, applied research, and collaborative engagement. Service to the department, college, and university is also an important component of this role. A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required by the start of the appointment. Exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for appointment at a higher rank. Faculty in the School of Engineering benefit from a supportive environment for both teaching and applied research. Areas of scholarly interest may include high-performance computing, distributed systems, software processes, project management, and quality engineering, though candidates with expertise in other emerging technologies are encouraged to apply.
