*OSP Permitting Coordinator / Utilities Associate*
*Location:* On-site - Tyler, TX *Compensation:* Hourly rate based on experience *About the Role* Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented *OSP Permitting Coordinator / Utilities Associate* to support permitting efforts for outside plant (OSP) construction projects in the Tyler, TX area. This on-site role plays a critical part in enabling broadband infrastructure expansion, including fiber, HFC, coax, and new build deployments. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working with telecom permits and be comfortable collaborating with local jurisdictions, utility providers, and internal engineering and construction teams. *Key Responsibilities* *Permit Preparation & Submission:* Prepare and submit permit applications for OSP projects, ensuring all documentation meets local, state, and federal requirements. *Jurisdictional Coordination:* Liaise with city, county, and state agencies to understand permitting processes and maintain strong relationships to expedite approvals. *Cross-Functional Collaboration:* Work closely with engineering and construction teams to gather necessary documentation, including route maps and technical drawings. *Utility Coordination:* Coordinate with electric, gas, and water utilities for joint trenching, pole attachments, and right-of-way access. *Tracking & Reporting:* Maintain organized records of permit submissions, approvals, and revisions. Monitor timelines and follow up to prevent delays. *Regulatory Compliance:* Stay current with permitting regulations and construction codes applicable to OSP work in Texas. *Issue Resolution:* Address and resolve permitting challenges, including rejected applications and jurisdictional disputes. *Process Improvement:* Identify opportunities to streamline permitting workflows and improve communication across teams and agencies. *Required Qualifications* * *Must have direct experience working with telecom permits* (fiber, coax, or HFC). * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication and follow-up capabilities. * Familiarity with permitting platforms, GIS tools, and construction documentation is a plus. * Ability to manage multiple projects independently. *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience with telecom contractors or internet service providers. * Knowledge of Texas DOT and municipal permitting processes. * Experience coordinating with electric, gas, and water utilities during OSP planning and execution. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
