Early Childhood Innovation Center in the Institute for Human Development at the University of Missouri-Kansas City

Job Description

The Institute for Human Development is hiring a Program Support Specialist. This position will coordinate support functions for the IHD Early Childhood Innovation Center to ensure that program goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. This role has four primary components: communication, monitoring project management, coordinating meetings, and providing logistical support.

  • Manage day-to-day communication for projects within the Early Childhood Innovation Center. Prepare letters, email, social media, and content for info-graphics, flyers, or newsletters.
  • Conduct on-sight project visits to early learning programs, as needed. Including collaboration with program site directors and education staff.
  • Coordinate the development and dissemination of reports of the Early Childhood Innovation Center (routing for content reviews, formatting, proofreading, printing, distribution).
  • Monitor the completion of subcontracts issued by the Early Childhood Innovation Center, including invoicing, contract processing, etc. using approved university procedure.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and events for the Early Childhood Innovation Center.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and notes for the Early Childhood Innovation Center.
  • Prepare and process purchasing requests for the Early Childhood Innovation Center and monitor their fulfillment.
  • Provide support to the Early Childhood Innovation Center's administrative team which may include but is not limited to data entry, filing, and other activities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years relevant experience in early childhood
  • 1 year of experience in program management or support
  • Experience working in early childhood education, early childhood behavioral health, or closely related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation with valid insurance.
  • Experience with technology, including Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, etc.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated salary range starting at $23.00 per hour, commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
