Position Summary

Waste Connections is seeking a proactive and highly organized Maintenance Technician Recruiting Administrator to support both recruiting and administrative functions tied to our Maintenance Tech hiring efforts and WyoTech partnership. This role combines hands-on recruiting activities, with essential administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for connecting students with career opportunities. Quarterly travel to Wyoming for job fairs and recruiting events is required. This is an on-site position based in The Woodlands, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Candidate Outreach & Engagement
    • Conduct outreach to candidates and students via phone, email, and other platforms
    • Maintain regular check-ins with placed students at 30/60/90-day intervals
    • Send and track quarterly surveys to gather feedback and monitor student progress
    • Coordinate with local maintenance leadership to plan future recruiting needs
  • Recruiting & Event Coordination
    • Attend and represent the company at 4 annual career fairs
    • Identify and pursue recruiting opportunities in locations where students are or want to be
    • Collaborate with WyoTech staff and community partners to build talent pipelines
  • Administrative Support
    • Track candidate progress and maintain accurate records in recruiting systems
    • Verify WyoTech enrollment records for compliance with Waste Connections eligibility standards
    • Order tools for students in partnership with SnapOn and manage inventory logistics
    • Assist with scheduling, documentation, and reporting related to recruiting activities

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills - recruitment coordination experience a plus!
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to travel as needed (primarily to Wyoming)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems
