STV is seeking a BIM Director - Architecture to serve as the national leader responsible for defining and implementing STV's architectural BIM standards, workflows, and content across the Buildings Group. This position ensures architecture leads in digital project delivery within a multidisciplinary A/E practice by providing both strategic direction and hands-on expertise.
The Director will coordinate closely with the Digital Advisory Group and represent architecture's needs across STV, maintaining authority within Buildings to set priorities, close service gaps, and deliver tools, training and workflows tailored to architectural practice. This is a director-level, servant-leadership position requiring deep technical proficiency, collaboration across disciplines, and a pragmatic approach to empowering design teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Establish, implement, and enforce architecture-specific BIM standards, templates, and workflows across all offices.
- Represent the architectural discipline in all cross-disciplinary BIM and digital strategy discussions.
- Work directly with the Digital Advisory group to align on firmwide goals, identify and track gaps in support, and ensure solutions are delivered or independently developed as needed.
- Serve as the primary authority for architectural BIM policy and execution, ensuring consistent, high-quality output across 200+ architects nationwide.
Project Engagement
- Provide direct, hands-on involvement in active architectural projects to ensure high-quality model management and workflow consistency.
- Partner with Project Managers and BIM Leads to develop, review, and monitor BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for architectural scopes.
- Troubleshoot modeling, coordination, and data management issues across multiple project teams.
- Embed with teams as needed to ensure smooth integration of architectural BIM with structural, MEP, and other discipline models.
Standards & Resource Development
- Lead the creation, vetting, and rollout of national architectural BIM resources, including Revit templates, family libraries, detail libraries, and specification integration workflows.
- Establish a sustainable process for content governance and updates.
- Monitor adoption, collect feedback, and continuously improve resources based on evolving project and client needs.
Technology & Innovation
- Champion adoption of new digital design tools and processes, including Revit, Dynamo, Enscape, Twinmotion, Rhino.Inside, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Ideate, etc.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline documentation workflows.
- Oversee architectural integration with visualization, interoperability, and analysis tools.
- Collaborate with Digital Advisory to test, pilot, and implement emerging technologies that enhance architectural design and coordination.
Collaboration, Mentorship & Culture
- Act as a servant-leader, supporting architectural BIM leads at the project level to manage models effectively while maintaining focus on design delivery.
- Conduct over-the-shoulder coaching and project-based interventions for complex modeling or workflow challenges.
- Build a culture of digital excellence, collaboration, and shared accountability across all architectural offices.
- Promote knowledge-sharing, best practices, and consistency among architecture teams.
- Identify and develop training resources tailored to the architectural practice to bring all BIM users to a common level of understanding and expertise and to elevate the overall quality and capabilities of BIM users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field required; professional licensure preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in architectural design and documentation within a multidisciplinary A/E firm.
- Proven expertise in Autodesk Revit, model management, template development, and firmwide BIM standards creation.
- Hands-on experience with BIM Execution Plans and coordination across multiple disciplines.
- Proficiency in Dynamo or equivalent scripting tools; knowledge of visualization and interoperability platforms preferred.
- Strong understanding of specifications integration and data-driven workflows.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills with a track record of successfully influencing across diverse teams.

Compensation Range: $137,697.82 - $183,597.09
