Responsibilities
The Clinic Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and overall performance of Lakeview Family Medicine. This role ensures efficient workflows, high-quality patient care, and staff engagement. The Administrator collaborates with providers and leadership to align operational processes with UnityPoint Clinic's strategic goals and regulatory standards.
Clinic Operations & Leadership
Oversee all daily activities within the clinic, ensuring efficient workflows, optimal staffing, and a high standard of patient care. Maintain in-depth knowledge of clinic protocols, policies, and procedures; provide guidance and support to team members. Supervise and mentor clinic staff, facilitating onboarding, training, and ongoing development. Ensure effective implementation of clinic schedules, coverage, and staffing models. Identify and resolve operational issues in real-time; escalate as appropriate to the Director of Operations.
Financial Oversight
Manage clinic financial functions including accounts payable, payroll reporting, and monitoring accounts receivable. Participate in budget development and financial forecasting in collaboration with leadership. Review monthly financial reports and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Strategic Implementation
Support and execute UnityPoint Clinic's strategic initiatives. Stay informed through active participation in internal communications, meetings, and system updates. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability. Promote learning, teamwork, and alignment with organizational mission and values.
Staff & Provider Relations
Act as a liaison between providers and leadership, facilitating open communication and performance alignment. Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for new staff and providers, ensuring completion of all documentation and orientation. Collaborate with the Associate Medical Director and Director on provider performance and talent development. Address and resolve employee relations issues, partnering with HR and leadership on complex matters. Lead emergency preparedness efforts, ensuring the safety of staff, patients, and protected health information. Attend and contribute to staff meetings to support alignment and engagement.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure clinic compliance with regulatory standards, including CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational risk policies. Promote safe working conditions and secure handling of protected health information. Uphold UnityPoint Health policies and maintain consistent attendance and professional conduct.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience 2-3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare or clinic setting Experience with billing, coding (ICD-9, CPT), accounts receivable, and payroll Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license (for work-related travel) Ability to interpret and apply clinic policies and regulatory requirements
Preferred:
Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Management Clinical operations experience Background in budgeting, financial and facility management Knowledge of process improvement methodologies
