Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Dredge Operator to safely and efficiently operate and maintain a dredge for our surface sand and gravel mining operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment operations, production efficiency, and site safety experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a dredge to remove sand and gravel and maintain lake pit floor areas.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance teams.
• Monitor digging conditions and adjust techniques for optimal productivity and safety.
• Follow company safety policies, MSHA/OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
• Record production data, delays, and equipment issues accurately.
• Assist with minor equipment repairs and ensure the dredge is in good operating condition.
• Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience operating a suction dredge
• Familiarity with mining or aggregate operations is a preference.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of pit layout and material movement plans.
• Experience with lubrication and maintenance of large equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Schedule:

• Typical schedule: 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
