THE ROLE:

Our site in Colorado Springs is seeking a Tooling Machinist III to join our team.

As a machinist in the tooling department, you play a vital role in helping Entegris shape the future of innovation. The Tooling team is responsible for producing components for our injection molds, fixtures, and supporting various internal manufacturing needs. In this role, you will be responsible for both setting up and operating CNC machines, as well as actively troubleshooting any technical challenges that arise during production.

HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE 3PM-11:30PM MONDAY-FRIDAY

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Complete the setup of Hass and other CNC equipment. Setup other pieces of equipment like Flatness gage and gluing systems. This includes precise calibration, correct tooling selection and configuration, program loading and verification, and adjustments for material - specific requirements.
  • Program CNC mills and lathes in Mastercam.
  • Correctly identify safety concerns with the setup (or more tenured) machinist.
  • Follow machinist ergonomic procedures and utilize tools safely.
  • Properly load tools with correct tool holder.
  • Troubleshoot CNC machinery based on dimensional issues with produced components.
  • Learn to interact, support, and assist operators and to offer guidance related to machining processes.
  • Read and correctly understand Work Orders, Standard Operational Sheets and Gantt Chart to ensure production schedule and priorities are met accordingly.
  • Adhere to 5S principles (I. e. putting tools and fixtures in correct locations, disposing/recycling of tooling, etc.).
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues as they arise throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Verify products visually and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure products are consistent with established specifications by utilizing standard tool room measuring gages and equipment.
  • Read and understand G&M CNC code used in CNC machinery.
  • Read and understand G-Code CNC programming language.
  • Set up, at least two (2) of the following CNC machinery: Hass vertical CNC mills. This includes precise calibration, correct tooling selection and configuration, program loading and verification, and adjustments for material-specific requirements.
  • Set up and safely operate 3-axis manual machinery (Lathe, mill, saw). Install the correct tooling, understand work order requirements, surface finishing, and correctly measure dimensions after machining part.
  • Foster a sense of accountability for all activities related to 5s principles and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with cell team members and tool room support staff to ensure smooth operations

  • Support production goals by completing additional tasks as assigned

WHAT WE SEEK:

  • High school degree or equivalency REQUIRED
  • 2-year technical degree or 4 years equivalent.
  • 8+ years' experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding G code.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and machine troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledgeable about powered hand tools.
  • Advanced computer and data entry skills.
  • Knowledgeable of common G&M codes
  • Starting to troubleshoot minor issues in Language programming.
  • Performing simple (circular) operations using codes like G02 and G03 for circular movements and M03 and M04 for spindle control.
  • May use G-code regularly for standard machining tasks.
  • Update systems as necessary. Daily, by work order etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team setting.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Proven ability to execute manufacturing processes within a tight tolerance.
  • Ability to understand documented processes and procedures.

  • Compensation: $30-$40 hourly range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
  • Shift Differential of $1.50 hour.
