C Technologies, Inc. seeks a Project Manager & Lead Instructional Designer to lead instructional design and project management efforts for a major training initiative. The position is classified as onsite/hybrid.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for overseeing the end-to-end instructional design and project management process, ensuring all learning solutions are grounded in adult learning theory, aligned with Metro's requirements, and reflective of C's commitment to excellence in human performance improvement. The Project Manager & Lead Instructional Designer will lead the development, coordination, and delivery of technical and professional training programs while ensuring projects are executed on time, within scope, and in alignment with client objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee Instructional Design Activities: Lead all phases of instructional design, ensuring training materials are grounded in adult learning theory and align with Metro's technical competencies and operational goals.
Ensure Alignment with Learning Objectives: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to define measurable learning objectives and ensure instructional materials drive desired performance outcomes.
Manage Project Timelines and Milestones: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, track milestones, and proactively mitigate risks to ensure timely delivery of deliverables.
Engage in Proactive Stakeholder Communication: Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders and leadership to provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with strategic learning goals.
Conduct Quality Assurance Reviews: Oversee quality assurance processes to validate instructional accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and instructional effectiveness before deployment.
Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Serve as the primary liaison between instructional designers, SMEs, and multimedia developers to ensure collaborative workflows and cohesive project execution.
Monitor and Report on Project Performance: Track progress, resource utilization, and key metrics; prepare reports for leadership that inform decisions and guide continuous improvement.
Support Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to assess training effectiveness through data analysis, learner feedback, and performance outcomes to refine instructional strategies.
Project Management: Serve as the primary point of contact with Metro's COTR/Project Manager, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and communication remains clear and proactive.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in instructional systems design.
At least 4 years of experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
2 or more years of experience leading a team.
Proven proficiency in the ADDIE methodology and adult learning theory.
Demonstrated experience with Adobe Captivate (Classic and/or New version).
Experience in developing technical training programs.
Knowledge of and compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.
Experience conducting working sessions with executives and senior leadership.
Experience designing multi-week onboarding programs for new employees and continuing education tracks for existing staff.
