Typically located at the site, directs and coordinates all on-site activities associated with the completion of a project. In addition to construction supervision, these activities may include field administration, procurement, and field engineering. Typical Project Size Guidelines: Medium size project having 250,000 to 2 million construction man-hours or a total installed cost of $50 to $400 million.

Typical Qualifications University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or equivalent trade qualification combined with further relevant training and experience. Experience varies based on education background. Those with degree typically have 10+ years relevant experience. Those with trade qualifications will typically have 15+ years relevant experience.

Decision Making Ability to implement project execution plans as required by company policy and procedures; Typically has knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and sometimes lead change effectively; Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information.

Supervision Received Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Influence over duties. Work is assigned only in terms of broad objectives to be accomplished, and is reviewed for policy, soundness of approach and general effectiveness. Work is reviewed to ensure conformity with project, policy and for coordination of other company departments.

Supervision Authority Manages and directs work directly or through supervisors or professionals leading others.

Communication Effectively communicate and take a leadership role in preparing and presenting proposals and reports to staff and management. Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to recognize and resolve conflict.

Systems, Processes &

Tools Advanced understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field. Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues. May be involved in the development of new systems, processes and tools.
