Description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Advanced Solutions Engineer to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will support the primary Application Engineer for Truist by strengthening field execution on complex, multi-site programs (e.g., Battery, Avigilon). The role blends application engineering with job site/field coordination, driving a committee-based planning cadence, a formal project planning document (JField handoff, schedule control, documentation quality, commissioning support, and punch list closure-so the Primary Application Engineer can focus on higher-level technical and program leadership. As an Advanced Solutions Engineer, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

Field Coordination (Large Programs)



  • Serve as job site/field coordinator once projects are sold/booked; verify scope, site conditions, access, staging, and materials.
  • Lead start-of-day huddles and end-of-day recaps; maintain daily logs; update Smartsheet schedule, risks, and material status.


Committee-Based Planning (Pre-Install)



  • Convene a short planning committee (Primary Application Engineer, PM, Lead Tech, Networking, Permitting, Supply Chain).
  • Validate drawings/device counts, network/IP needs, AHJ requirements; capture minutes, decisions, owners, and due dates.


Formal Project Planning Document



  • Build and deliver the handoff package: final drawings/redlines, MOP, device schedule, network plan, permit/inspection plan, contacts, milestones.
  • Brief the Lead Tech on scope, safety plan, schedule, success criteria; confirm acceptance and readiness.


Design, Documentation & Closeout (Truist Standards)



  • Read/interpret plans/specs; assist with device layouts, risers, submittals, redlines per Truist and Convergint standards.
  • Assemble closeout packages (as-builts, test results, O&M, backups) and maintain document control in Smartsheet/SharePoint.


Implementation & Commissioning Support



  • Support onsite/remote commissioning and functional testing (PACOM/March Networks/Avigilon); log test results and defects.
  • Drive punchlist items to zero with PMs and Lead Techs.


Permitting & Compliance



  • Research AHJ requirements (low-voltage/electrical); prepare applications, track approvals, and coordinate inspections.

Requirements:







    • Ability to read/understand project plans (architectural/electrical/low-voltage) and adhere to installation standards.
    • Working knowledge of field installation processes (cabling, terminations, device mounting, basic IP concepts).
    • Above-basic computer skills: Excel, Word, PDF editor; comfortable with Smartsheet/Teams/SharePoint.
    • Strong written and verbal communication; professional, customer-facing presence.
    • Judgment, accountability, and follow-through on Truist/Convergint standards, QA/QC, documentation, and scheduling.
    • Multitasker and self-sufficient problem solver; comfortable coordinating multiple crews/sites.
    • Valid driver license; ability to travel across the Southeast; regular site visits.


    Preferred (or commit to earn within 120 days)



    • PACOM and March Networks exposure or certifications; Avigilon familiarity.
    • Experience preparing/filing permits with AHJs.
    • Banking/financial security environment experience.
    • Bluebeam or AutoCAD LT for redlines/as-builts.
