Description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Advanced Solutions Engineer to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will support the primary Application Engineer assigned to Fifth Third Bank, ensuring designs, permitting, documentation, commissioning, and QA/QC align with Fifth Third standards and Convergint requirements. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with a structured path to full Application Engineer. As an Advanced Solutions Engineer, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

Design & Documentation (Fifth Third Standards)



  • Read/interpret project plans & specs; assist with device layouts, risers, submittals, and redlines per Fifth Third and Convergint standards.
  • Build kit lists/MOPs; assemble closeout packages (as-builts, test results, O&M).


Implementation & Commissioning Support



  • Support the Primary AE with onsite/remote commissioning, basic programming (PACOM/March Networks), and functional testing; document results.


Permitting & Compliance



  • Research AHJ requirements (low-voltage/electrical), prepare application packets, track approvals; help with inspection readiness.


Quality Assurance / Control



  • Execute QA/QC checklists (counts, labeling, terminations, stream/recording health, access events).
  • Capture and drive punch list items to closure with PMs/field teams.


Scheduling, Coordination & Communication



  • Coordinate site walks, access windows, and technician schedules with PM/ROC; keep Smartsheet schedules current.
  • Provide concise written/verbal updates to customer/internal stakeholders; escalate risks early with options.


Recordkeeping & Tools



  • Maintain accurate records in Smartsheet; produce deliverables using Excel/Word/PDF editor; follow document control.

Requirements:





    • Ability to read/understand project plans and follow installation standards.
    • Working knowledge of field installation processes (cabling, terminations, device mounting, basic networking).
    • Above-basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PDF editor); comfort with Teams/SharePoint/Smartsheet.
    • Strong written/verbal communication; professional, customer-facing presence.
    • Good judgment, accountability, and follow-through on customer and Convergint standards, QA/QC, documentation, and scheduling.
    • Multitasker, self-sufficient/problem solver who asks good questions and takes initiative.
    • Valid driver's license; ability to travel across GA/NC/SC (occasional TN/AL); regular site visits.




Preferred (or commit to earn within 120 days)



  • PACOM and March Networks exposure or certifications.
  • Experience preparing/filing permits with AHJs.
  • Banking/financial security environment familiarity; basic IP concepts (VLANs, PoE, NTP).
  • Bluebeam/AutoCAD LT for redlines/as-builts.


Success Metrics (KPIs)



  • QA pass rate; punchlist density/time-to-close on Fifth Third scopes.
  • Schedule adherence; permit cycle time support.
  • Documentation completeness/on-time closeout.
  • Reduction in callbacks; contribution to FTC improvement.
  • Customer feedback (clarity, professionalism, responsiveness).
