The new University of Iowa Health Care North Libertydepartment of Radiology is seeking a Senior Imaging Technologist withprimary duties in MRI. Perform and teach specialized MRI and research procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.


Duties Include:




  • Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing MRI imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision.



  • Perform MRI procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment.



  • Has knowledge of and applies MRI safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment.



  • Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.



  • Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.



  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

Schedule:Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM


Pay Grade: 5

Qualifications - External

Required Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or other Allied Health Sciences discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.



  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.



  • Must maintain current certification in American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and/or other radiologic related technological certification and Iowa Permit to Practice as required by the State of Iowa for all technologists operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment.




Desirable Qualifications:




  • Recent work or clinical education experience in MRI.



  • MRI modality training.



  • MRI certification or eligible.



  • Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
