Valiant is seeking a mission-ready Combat Training Specialist to support virtual and simulated training operations at the National Training Center (NTC), Fort Irwin, CA. This position focuses on delivering immersive and realistic training to U.S. Army units using the Engagement Skills Trainer (EST I & II) and Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT) platforms. As part of the NTC's operational support team, you will play a critical role in preparing rotational training units (RTUs) for deployment by supporting simulation-based weapons and fire support training systems that build lethality, precision, and tactical decision-making. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and maintain EST I, EST II, and CFFT (v3/v4) systems to support individual and collective training.
- Instruct and mentor soldiers on virtual marksmanship, weapons handling, judgmental use-of-force scenarios, and indirect fire coordination.
- Tailor training scenarios based on unit-specific mission profiles and Army doctrine (e.g., ATP 3-09.30, TC 3-20.40).
- Coordinate with unit trainers, observer/controllers (O/Cs), and range operations to integrate virtual training into broader live and constructive training events.
- Conduct system troubleshooting, software updates, and hardware checks to ensure maximum system availability.
- Track system usage, training throughput, and system readiness status in accordance with Army and contractor reporting standards.
- Assist with scenario development, scripting, and system configuration based on operational requirements.
- Provide input on system improvements, lesson learned, and training effectiveness evaluations.

- Minimum 4 years of relevant military experience (Combat Arms or Fire Support MOS preferred: 11B, 19D, 13F, etc.).
- Experience operating EST I and/or EST II and CFFT systems in a training or operational support role.
- Strong understanding of Army weapons systems, marksmanship fundamentals, fire support procedures, and training doctrine.
- Capable of conducting formal and informal instruction to various ranks and skill levels.
- Familiarity with military training support systems and procedures (e.g., DTMS, TC 3-20.0 series).
- Ability to work in a dynamic training environment with minimal supervision.
Work Week: 40 Hours/Week (M-F 0730-1600) Overtime: As Required Travel Required: Yes, Within Fort Irwin and potentially CONUS. SECURITY CLEARANCE: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Active Secret preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Work in field conditions (desert environment), including extreme temperatures and rough terrain.
- Availability for extended hours, weekends, and non-standard shifts during training rotations.
