Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Program Coordinator plays a key leadership role in supporting the mission of Upperman African American Cultural Center through student staff supervision, program coordination, administrative support, and collaborative outreach. This role co-supervises the student employment team alongside the Director and provides oversight of four core functional areas: Mentoring, Events, Operations, and Engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Co-supervise a team of student employees, providing guidance across functional areas including Center Operations, Events, and Registered Student Organizations
Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with student employees.
Support student staff development and professional growth opportunities.
Assist in the planning and execution of large-scale events
Provide on-site event support and coverage as needed.
Collaborate with student organizations to support their initiatives and programming.
Support programming and development for peer mentoring projects.
Meet weekly with the Director to establish goals, review expectations, and monitor progress.
Assist with general administrative duties to ensure smooth operations of the Center.
Support other Upperman and Campus Life initiatives as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with a range of constituents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to think creatively and develop new initiatives |
