Job Description

The Equipment Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing RelaDyne equipment at customer sites in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner. This role ensures optimal equipment performance and customer satisfaction through skilled mechanical work, adherence to company safety and environmental policies, and accurate documentation of service activities. The Equipment Technician plays a key role in supporting field operations and maintaining RelaDyne's reputation for technical excellence and reliability.


Essential Duties



  • Install, maintain, and repair RelaDyne fuel, lube, and DEF equipment to ensure proper operation and customer satisfaction.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and communicate findings and repair plans with the department manager.
  • Perform all repair work in a safe and cost-efficient manner while meeting quality and time expectations.
  • Accurately complete repair logs, job sheets, and parts request forms.
  • Maintain up-to-date and organized records of all work performed.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including those related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Properly use and maintain a variety of tools and equipment required for installation and repair.
  • Set up new customer equipment according to RelaDyne's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Fuel, Lube, and DEF systems.
  • Update customer repair spreadsheets and communicate service updates in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to continuously improve processes and service quality.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of equipment installation, repair, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and SOPs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recordkeeping.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
  • Basic computer proficiency for logging repairs and updating records.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


Requirements / Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
  • Prior experience in mechanical, equipment, or field service repair is preferred (fuel, lube, or industrial equipment experience a plus).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company MVR requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in outdoor environments.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Commitment to following all RelaDyne safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
