Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Lifecycle and Surplus Coordinator plays a key operational role in supporting the daily activities related to computer lifecycle replacements, surplus processing, and exception-based computing requests. This position is responsible for configuring and deploying new Windows and MacOS devices, including software installation, user settings, and data migration to OneDrive. The coordinator also handles the secure disposal of outdated equipment through hard drive removal or cryptographic wiping. Working closely with clients and lab managers, the coordinator ensures timely and efficient system deployments while maintaining accurate asset records in the inventory management system. The role requires strong customer service skills to communicate technical information clearly, schedule deployments, and resolve user issues. Physical tasks such as lifting and relocating equipment are also part of the job. The coordinator operates under the guidance of the Hardware Asset Manager and contributes to the overall success of the university's asset lifecycle and surplus operations.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in an Information Technology field and one year in the information technology field related to the position's role; or graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or graduation from a four year college or university with a major in an Information Technology area. Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience

  • Computer Science or Information Systems degree or Information Systems degree.
  • A+ certification.
  • 2 years of work experience
  • Ability to work with multiple computing platforms, providing routine hardware and software support.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with a broad range of faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support a wide range of software specific to Windows and MacOS. Familiarity with both wired and wireless networks.
  • Ability to climb a ladder as well as lift and carry 30 lbs.
