Hexcel is currently seeking a Associate Facilities Engineer for our Kent, WA, USA location.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is eager to grow into a Facilities Engineer. You'll support engineering projects that keep our operations running smoothly, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate across departments to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety. Summary pay range: $55,547- $95,222 annual salary (non-exempt).

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Support Facilities activities across production, facilities, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations and timely project execution.
  • Interpret customer and internal drawings, specifications, and procedures to support manufacturing and facilities planning.
  • Analyze new designs and specifications for manufacturability and identify potential startup challenges for new programs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including ROI analysis, process standardization, and root cause investigations.
  • Assist in planning and executing upgrades to facility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, and emissions control equipment.
  • Coordinate site visits and present technical data to internal teams, customers, suppliers, and technical associations.
  • Provide hands-on training and develop instructional materials for operations personnel.
  • Support Facilities leadership with data analysis, documentation, and project coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 1-2 years of engineering experience, ideally in manufacturing or facilities-related projects preferred.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems and ability to support limited electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic applications.
  • Proven ability to define problems, interpret technical instructions, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools and methodologies; ROI and root cause analysis skills a plus.
  • Comfortable working in varied environments, including office, shop floor, and outdoor conditions.
