Controls Technician

The ControlsTechnician is responsible for substation and pad mount transformer control panel installation. This role will involve running conduit, putting together wire runs, pulling and terminating wire, and installing gauges and fans.

• Read and follow work order instructions to ensure your rebuilding transformers to customer specifications.

• Gather parts and tools that are needed for the work order and ensure they are in good working condition prior to usage.

• Layout conduit runs for pad mount and substation transformers. This includes tracing and wiring in existing control panels.

• Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation.

• Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and appropriately. Return equipment to proper location once usage is complete.

• Recondition any components deemed necessary to fix.

• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.

• Other assigned duties as needed.

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.

• Mechanical and transformer experience preferred.

• OSHA10 certification preferred

• Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.

• A proven track record in safety excellence is required.

• Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.

• Ability to read and interpret work orders.

• Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.

• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.

• Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.

• Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.

• Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.

• Complete company compliance and safety training when required.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
