The GL Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial information and lead the general accounting processes. This role will directly manage a team of 3 accounting professionals while spearheading system transformations and process optimization efforts. They will play a vital role in the organization and will impact the business by aligning the performance of their team with the overarching departmental and organizational goals. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with project management capabilities and a forward-thinking approach to automation and AI integration. What you'll be doing
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process including reviews, reconciliations, analysis, and reporting Prepare, review, and approve high volume of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytical procedures Ensure accurate and timely recording of complex transactions in multi-company, multi-currency environments Manage worldwide consolidations of 50+ entities including intercompany eliminations and adjustments Oversee and implement effective accounting policies, procedures, and controls Ensure compliance with US GAAP and financial reporting requirements Assist with the execution of quarterly reviews and year-end financial audits Identify and implement process automation and AI-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy Lead ERP and accounting system implementation projects from planning through execution and post-implementation support Recommend and assist in developing financial systems solutions and requirements for new or enhancements to existing applications Drive change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 3 accounting professionals through coaching, performance evaluations, and identifying growth opportunities Support special projects and provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed Supervise and develop professional staff, managing a team of 3 direct reports
What you'll likely bring
Proven experience with multi-company, multi-currency consolidations Demonstrated experience with ERP system implementations and transformations Strong Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools Familiarity with automation tools, RPA platforms, or AI-driven accounting solutions Understanding of data analytics and business intelligence tools Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Change management expertise and ability to drive organizational transformation Strong communication skills with ability to present complex information to various stakeholders Collaborative leadership style with ability to influence across all organizational levels Innovative thinking with passion for leveraging technology to improve processes Attention to detail with commitment to accuracy and quality
