We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced NDT Crack Check Technician to join our dynamic team, dedicated to ensuring the quality and safety of our electric vehicles and components.
What You'll Do
- Conduct non-destructive testing inspections using primarily dye penetrant testing (PT) to detect and evaluate cracks and other defects in materials and components
- Prepare test specimens, equipment, and materials for inspection according to established procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with Tesla's quality and safety protocols
- Interpret and evaluate test results to determine the presence, location, size, and nature of defects, providing accurate and comprehensive documentation in inspection reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure effective communication and coordination of inspection activities
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
- Adhere to Tesla's safety protocols and procedures, prioritizing the safety of oneself and others in the work environment
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in performing non-destructive testing inspections, particularly in crack detection, with a focus on electric vehicle components and materials
- Proficiency in one or more NDT techniques, such as dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, eddy current testing, or ultrasonic testing
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and specifications (e.g., ASNT, ASTM, API) and Tesla's quality and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret test results, with a focus on quality and safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures
- Technical training or certification in non-destructive testing (e.g., ASNT, API) is highly preferred

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
