Job Summary The research associate will lead the analysis of the SPHEREx deep-field survey in the Galaxy Formation theme that is based on intensity mapping methods. They will also be responsible for leading the development of the level-4 analysis pipeline and validating the overall methodology and data consistency. Essential Job Duties Develop auto- and cross-spectrum estimators and validate their performance. Simulate the effects of known systematic errors. Validate data consistency using internal data splits. Write scientific publications on this work and report on the results and the statistical and systematic errors in publications. Basic Qualifications PhD in physics, astronomy or astrophysics. 3 years of related experience Extensive post-PhD background (1-3 years) in cosmological analysis in intensity-mapping surveys. Preferred Qualifications Strong background (5+ years) in intensity mapping measurements and statistical analysis methods. Familiarity with the formats and instrumental properties of the SPHEREx data products. Background in computational methods and numerical analyses. Required Documents Resume Hiring Range $79,700 - $112,500 Per Year The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
