Job Description

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector - Level 3 is an intermediate to advanced level inspector, with the ability to fully perform the role of Quality Inspector - Level 1 and 2 along with the ability to operate CMMs and to interpret their results. The Quality Inspector - Level 3 is capable of a wide range of inspection activities to include the inspection of machined parts, assemblies, raw material, heat treat, and outside processing.

Shift:

  • Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm-2:00am, with training shift Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm for approximately 2-3 weeks. There is an additional $2.50/hr shift differential for the night shift.

Reporting Relationships:

The Quality Inspector - Level 3 reports directly to the Inspection Supervisor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect fastener installation, sealant, raw material, machine parts, bushings installations, and standards, assemblies, outside processing (NDT, finishes, finish coatings, thermal processing, etc.)
  • Document FAI report
  • Document non-conformances
  • Perform First Part inspections
  • Perform final inspections
  • May occasionally perform special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to be certified with Hardness and Eddy Current, Sealant, Bushing and bearing installation, electrical bonding, and fastener installation.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • First part inspection of machined parts utilizing DCC CMM's and or manual inspection methods (PCDMIS experience preferred)
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASME 14.5 Good knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (running PCDMIS software).
  • Experienced in reading and correctly interpreting complex blueprints and engineering requirements
  • Experience in applying shop math skills such as trigonometry, ability to calculate dimensions, set sine plate, etc.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming product
  • Basic understanding of BQMS (Business Quality Management System) processes and procedures
  • Understanding of machine shop and aerospace assembly terminology and nomenclature
  • Fully experienced with all basic and advanced manual inspection tools
  • Enter data using Syteline/ESI or other ERP systems as directed
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write simple correspondence
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to read and understand technical and engineering material and communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work alone or in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive focus and earnest approach in meeting responsibilities and goals
  • 2+ years with recent aircraft machine shop experience

                  Level of Education:

                  • High School Diploma or equivalent education

                  For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $26.50 to $39.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
