Job Description: Job Summary This position supports the development of aircraft structures as a Static Stress analyst. Duties include performing complex static analysis for both metallic and non-metallic parts while working in close collaboration with design and fatigue colleagues to provide quality solutions. Methods include the use of both classical hand calculations and computer techniques to develop high strength to weight ratio structures. Primary Responsibilities Technical Solutions: 95%
- Autonomously perform complex analyses to verify that structural integrity requirements have been met. Team assignments may include detail part sizing, layout maturation, trade study analysis, weight reduction efforts, certification activity, or in-service support.
- Document analyses in support of trade studies or detail drawing sign-off for airframe structure.
- Liaise with Design, Fatigue and other appropriate Airbus departments to come up with optimum design solutions.
- Accept broad objectives with agreed deadlines and establish the tasks required and how they should be completed. Works independently.
- Demonstrates a high level of listening and oral skills by leading discussions on issues, solutions, ideas, and status of work.
- Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Ability to obtain Static Authorizer Technical Signatory. Has obtained and utilizes Static Approver Signatory effectively.
Additional Responsibilities Other duties as assigned: 5%
- Identify and support local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through process, methods and tools improvements.
Required Education
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) with a strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis, mechanics of materials, and/or system design.
Preferred Education
- A Minor in Computer Science
- Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline
Required Experience
- Minimum of nine (9) total design experience in airframe structures and/or system installation projects.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in metallic/composite airframe structure and/or system installation of electrical harnesses, fuel lines, hydraulic systems.
Travel Required
- 5 % Domestic and International.

- Authorized to Work in the US

- Position requires in-depth knowledge of technical principles of design, theories, and concepts. Applied knowledge of design documentation, techniques and procedures.

- Able to effectively prepare and deliver detailed, complex presentations inside and outside the organization
- Strong computer background, including MS Excel and Google Suite application experience (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)

- Software coding in C, C++, Python, or other programming languages
- Working knowledge of Airbus Structures

- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

- Demonstrates a high level of listening and oral skills by leading discussions on issues, solutions, ideas and status of work.
