Job Title: Athletic Trainer - Certified - Lexington Description Employment Status:Full time Shift:Day/Evening (United States of America) Facility:2331 Franklin Rd - Roanoke CP08 Carilion Medical Center. Requisition Number:R150581 Athletic Trainer - Certified - Lexington (Open) How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:The School Athletic Trainer works with athletes to prevent athletic injury and enhance performance using knowledge of nutrition, hygiene, psychology, conditioning and protective equipment. Develop training programs to prevent injuries and examine athlete's injuries while also showing them techniques to build their strength and avoid future or further injury. They will be a point of contact between area athletic programs and the physician practice. They will support Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Provide support for clinical and medical staff in the delivery of quality medical care. Assist with patient care as directed by the physician and clinical staff within scope of training. What We Require: Education: Bachelor's degree in health-related field required. Experience: none Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensure as an Athletic Trainer with the Virginia Department of Health Professions and certification through the National Athletic Training Board of Certification required. Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal skills to communicate both in person and in writing in order to interact with management, doctors, professional staff, patients, general public and local schools and sports teams. Keyboarding and utilization of automated computer systems required, including electronic medical records. Must be able to assist with or transfer athletes of various weight/heights. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances.
