Role: Financial Analyst
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000/annually

Location: NYC or Northern NJ (Hybrid schedule, flexible work from home)

About the role: A growing insurance organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its finance team. This role is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of experience in accounting, FP&A, or insurance operations who is eager to work with complex financial data and contribute to high-impact reporting and analytics. You'll play a key role in supporting financial operations, including reporting, reconciliations, and reinsurance processes. The position offers strong visibility across the organization and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including journal entries and reporting packages.
  • Prepare and validate premium, loss, and commission data.
  • Reconcile claims and escrow activity across multiple entities.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for leadership and board-level presentations.
  • Support reinsurance billing and data tracking, including reconciliation and schedule preparation.
  • Work with large datasets to extract insights and support financial decision-making.
  • Help test and implement new financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Create and refine Excel-based templates for recurring reports.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or insurance.
  • Familiarity with property & casualty insurance is preferred; reinsurance experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS); Power BI experience is a bonus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with data and collaborating across teams.
