Join Jack Henry's Exception Item Processing (EIP) engineering team and gain real-world, hands-on software engineering experience contributing to production-grade financial technology solutions. The EIP team is a deeply collaborative, high-performing group of engineers and business analysts focused on building Jack Henry's next-generation platform - including the latest in AI-assisted functionality.

Throughout the 10-week program, you'll pair directly with an experienced engineer and work closely with your manager for mentorship and guidance. You'll get the opportunity to learn Go, contribute to real microservices deployed to the public cloud (GCP), and develop an end-to-end feature you can demo by the end of your internship. We're a remote-first, "cameras-on" team that values curiosity, collaboration, and fun - so we're looking for an intern who's excited to code, learn and be a true team player.

Interns at Jack Henry earn $25.00 per hour and follow a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The Summer 2026 Internship Program will run from June 1 through August 7, 2026. This role is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, with the exception of California.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Contribute to the design, development and testing of production microservices in Go within the Exception Item Processing platform.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and analysts to build, deploy and enhance features that drive automation and AI-assisted decisioning.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and team discussions-culminating in a demo of your completed feature or enhancement at the end of the internship.

What you'll need to have:

  • Pursuing a degree in: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS) or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated foundational knowledge or early experience in relevant areas of interest Software development principles and basic programming experience in at least one language (Go, Python, .NET or similar)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and not require sponsorship for employment authorization now or in the future.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Familiarity with or interest in Go programming language.
  • Exposure to cloud-hosted microservices, REST APIs, and Kubernetes environments (academic or personal projects welcome).
  • Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
  • Passion for solving real-world problems through technology and desire to learn from experienced engineers.
