POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Assistant reports to the Controller of ISD742; with the direction of the Warehouse Lead, the Warehouse Asst is responsible for receiving, checking in and distributing most school district supplies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Manually unloads shipments from delivery trucks to respective storage areas; forklifts and carts may also be used during the process of unloading deliveries
- Inspects all incoming shipments for damage and proper quantities against invoice; matches manifest to delivered product and verifies accuracy of orders
- Fills orders for supplies from district request forms
- Distributes supplies to appropriate schools by loading, driving and unloading District delivery vehicles
- Assists in the preparation of inventory reports by counting and tallying on appropriate forms
- Maintains a log of daily warehouse activities
- Drives the delivery truck or van
- Records damages shipments on appropriate forms
- Moves equipment within or between buildings; decides on equipment and help needed to complete task
- Rotates inventory by marking dates and repositioning supplies
- Inspects the delivery truck and forklift for visible mechanical problems, proper tire and fluid levels and safe brake operation; decides if repairs are needed
- Alerts supervisors of problems or stock shortages
- Assumes the duties of Warehouse Lead when that employee is absent
- Completes daily food deliveries to schools by 11:00 a.m.
- Volume of work varies, daily schedule adjustments may be necessary in order to complete tasks on a timely basis
- Advises supervisors as to space available to store items and suggest quantities to be ordered on stock items
- Responsible for daily security of warehouse locations
- Responsible for inventory, must make sure orders are processed for any supplies removed from inventory
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL FACTORS:
- Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing
- Lifting up to 125 lbs, working in storage freezer, working outside in a variety of weather conditions and driving in all seasons
