Join us as our new Production Operator in Encapsulation This position works under close supervision and is primarily responsible for operating in the Encapsulation department. The 2nd shift is from Monday through Thursday with operating hours from 3:00pm-1:00am each day. In this role you'll make an impact by:
- Setting-up (assembles and disassembles), operating, adjusting, cleaning and sanitizing equipment to produce products within quality standards and according to procedures.
- Performing minimal maintenance and preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment as required, and when appropriate.
- Assisting others in the areas trained as required by production demands or by direction of the Supervisor.
- Verifying lot and batch numbers and maintaining accurate production records, and equipment logs.
- Assisting in developing and improving SOPs.
- Following all workplace safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Participating in continuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles.
- Troubleshooting and/or identifying equipment failures or problems.
- Taking necessary samples for QC testing as needed.
- Completing necessary paperwork and/or data entry for production and/or inventory records.
To succeed you must hold:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system.
- Ability to read and follow a production journal to produce batches.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers regarding the status of the production process.
- Ability and adherence to wearing a Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) along with other personal protection equipment (PPE)
- Physical ability to use basic hand tools, stand & walk frequently, move materials up to 50 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Basic computer skills. ERP system knowledge (SAP), preferred.
- Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift, preferred.
