What to Expect
Tesla is hiring Process Engineering Technician at Gigafactory New York in Buffalo, NY to support Battery Remanufacturing. You will have the opportunity to contribute to both process development and equipment improvement. A strong drive to learn new skills and acquire knowledge will enhance your ability to support production operations. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will be challenged to operate machinery, implement design and process improvements, and develop production associates through hands-on training and training systems improvements to drive sustained operation and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Disposition of all non-conforming materials that are produced by the manufacturing line
  • Day to day coverage of production line process, including rapid response on out-of-control processes to minimize cost and maximize productivity
  • Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve process cpk and product yield
  • Maintain and help develop up-to-date manufacturing instructions
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure maintenance instructions and schedules are always available and current as well as summarize and analyze yield and process data
  • Manage small projects involving multiple departments and/or outside contractors as well as manage workload with positive attitude and proactively help co-workers

  • Managing MN creation/expiry/approvals
  • Provide direct support to process engineers on continuous improvement projects

    Expected Compensation
    • Engineering Technician I - $27.45 - $30.60/hour
    • Engineering Technician II - $31.63 - $34.97/hour
    + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
